Maryland Board of Nursing has new requirements
Effective immediately, the Maryland Board of Nursing will now require the CES Full Education Course-by-Course Report for internationally educated nurses applying for initial RN licensure.
For endorsement licensure, the requirements are as follows:
- If the applicant has already passed NCLEX® in another jurisdiction, the Board will accept the Certification Program, the CES Healthcare Profession & Science Course-by-Course Report, or the CES Full Education Course-by-Course Report
- If the applicant has NEVER passed NCLEX®, he or she MUST complete the CES Full Education Course-by-Course Report
The Maryland Board has already begun advising their applicants of this new requirement as of late December. Because of this, CGFNS will be handling applications as follows:
- Applications received ON OR AFTER Monday, 3 January 2005, and have listed a CES Healthcare Profession & Science Course-by-Course Report for the Maryland Board of Nursing will be informed of the CES Full Education Report requirement, and will be made INCOMPLETE until the applicant pays the US$40 balance to upgrade their order.
- Applicants who have applied BEFORE Monday, 3 January 2005, and have requested a CES Healthcare Profession & Science Course-by-Course Report for the Maryland Board of Nursing will continue to have their application processed as such, and a CES Healthcare Profession & Science Course-by-Course will be prepared and sent to the Board.
